Hong Kong recruits tremendous followers

HONG KONG, February 18, 2021: The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) unveiled its first ever global fan engagement program this week. “Hong Kong Super Fans” Accelerating the Covid-19 Tourism Recovery Plan.

Major bloggers and media influencers were invited to the program, which includes a “Comprehensive Virtual Tour on a Chinese New Year Theme”.

The immersive virtual tour picks up on a Chinese New Year theme and takes Hong Kong super fans on a journey to Hong Kong’s Old Town.

The virtual trip offers a stop in the old city of Hong Kong with visits to the paper products company Papery and popular attractions like the Man Mo Temple.

At a time of unprecedented restrictions on international travel and as the world rages over vaccine rollouts in hopes of a return to normalcy, the HKTB harnesses the power of community to remind people why they love Hong Kong, and for them Excitement about visiting the US will increase city once borders reopen.

“HKTB has planned in advance to prepare for the much anticipated grand invitation to welcome visitors back to Hong Kong,” said YK Pang, chairman of HKTB. “The ‘Hong Kong Super Fans’ program is both an important, integral element of the HKTB Recovery Plan and a way for us to show our appreciation to the people whose continued passion for Hong Kong has preserved awareness of the Hong Kong city as a world class travel destination. “

Media influencers, including travel bloggers, are invited to participate in exclusive online activities to showcase the best the city has to offer.

As soon as international trips to Hong Kong reopen, superfans hired to curate cheap reports and travel experiences will be rewarded with trips to explore Hong Kong and share their experiences with their audiences.

HKTB has invited superfans in Hong Kong and 20 key markets through HKTB’s global offices in Asia, Australasia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and America.

As HKTB continues to use the Holiday at Home campaign to encourage Hong Kong people to rediscover our hometown, the Hong Kong Super Fans program is the first big step in getting back to passionate travelers around the world too busy.
